Who we are
AvemaPsych & Medical PLLC started in 2022, designed to serve the Houston area. We are led by Dr. Adolf Malik – a highly experienced doctor and psychiatric nurse practitioner. Dr. Malik completed his Master’s Degree in nursing at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, followed by a post-master’s degree in Family Nursing Practice (FNP) and a doctoral degree in nursing practice (DNP) at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina. He also completed a post-doctoral degree in psychiatric mental health practice (PMHNP) at Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky. Dr. Malik is board certified in Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatry (PMHNP-BC). He is also board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), a DOT Medical Examiner, and SAMHSA (X-Waiver) addiction provider.
Dr. Malik and his team started AvemaPsych & Medical PLLC to offer a different approach to medical care. The aim of our practice is to decrease the isolation associated with mental health diagnoses by integrating mental health treatment into primary care.
This integration enables individuals to receive both services through one provider that truly understands them as an individual, making it more accessible and flexible for them to receive the help they need.
As a practice, we believe that health services should be convenient for people that need them. That’s why our patients can access our mental health care in Rosenberg, Texas, in our office and through telehealth. This way, they can get the most out of their healthcare wherever they feel comfortable. Our health professionals specialize in medical and psychiatric health care. With their support, we do our best to help prevent, diagnose, manage, and treat health conditions. We also believe in the importance of patient involvement in addressing their health needs. That’s why everything we do is done through collaboration, considering their needs and preferences for health care.
We are an in-network provider for most health insurance plans in the State of Texas, and we are currently accepting new patients.
